In addition to the formal academic courses in various aspects of entrepreneurship, the Center offers unique internship and real-world-based project opportunities. The Center also sponsors special seminars and programs.
- If you were at Wilkes in 1993you saw the "birth" of the Allan P. Kirby Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.
The Center was established by Mr. Allan P. Kirby, Jr., a member of the Wilkes Board
of Trustees, who made the generous gift in honor of his father.
- Allan Price Kirby, Jr., is the grandson of the famed businessman F.M. Kirby, one of the founders of the F.W. Woolworth Company, a pioneer in the "Five-and-Dime" retail industry. Wilkes' Kirby Hall is named for him.
