Career Services

Career Services provides opportunities for students and alumni to clarify their career goals via individual coaching, consultations, interest assessments and Life-Career Planning courses.

We help you to create a professional career development plan and to connect with the employment and educational resources you need to attain your career goals.

Conyngham Hall Come see us! Career Services is in Conyngham Hall, Rm. 214, located between the Cohen Science Center and Evans Residence Hall.

The front entrance of Conyngham is at 130 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

MISSION STATEMENT

Career Services strives to offer a dynamic and comprehensive developmental program within a student-centered university.

We aim to have our students think strategically and systematically about their futures, exceeding all of their expectations. We partner with employers, faculty, alumni career educators, and consortium members to provide career education and professional development opportunities.

Changing Careers?

Alumni are encouraged to utilize the assistance of Career Services. Do contact us for an appointment to discuss your career plans, to gain assistance with your job search, or to discuss career changes you are considering.  You can utilize our online career assessments and meet with us for a consultation to discuss career changes and questions.

College Central Network for Wilkes University

Career Services staff will critique and approve your resume, should you decide to upload it to the site.
In partnership with Wilkes Alumni Relations Office, we offer opportunities for you to work with current students and connect with employers and fellow alumni.  Utilize the Colonel Connection for some great networking opportunities.

Wilkes University Career Services helps students to:

  • Clarify goals in all stages of their career planning
  • Enhance skills necessary for employment/graduate school searches
  • Build a network of career building resources and contacts

A “placement office,” “placing” students in jobs, is an antiquated notion of a bygone era. In a highly competitive employment environment, more than ever, all students need career “know-how” to reach their professional goals. We hope to collaborate with you to assure your students’ success.

Partnerships with Faculty are critical to the success of Career Services’ endeavors; we couldn’t do what we do without you! Encouraging your students to visit with us individually and to participate in our career development courses, special events, mentoring activities, workshops, and class visits, helps us to infuse career education into the Wilkes academic experience.
