Wilkes University’s Family Business Forum will host two speaking events by financial advisor Franco Lombardo. Lombardo will present “The Great White Elephant of Money” on Sept. 18 from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Hawk Lecture Hall in the Business Building on the Pennsylvania State Worthington campus in Scranton. The lecture will be repeated on Sept. 19 from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Henry Student Center Ballroom on the Wilkes University campus. The lecture is free to attend and will address the issue of how wealth affects familial relationships.

Considered an expert on the issue of the psychology of money and its interaction within family legacy, Lombardo has spent two decades advising some of North America’s wealthiest families and their businesses. Lombardo is a co-founder and the managing director of Veritage, a financial advising company that guides family businesses through succession planning to help them establish lasting family legacies. In addition to presenting lectures throughout Canada and the United States, Lombardo has authored three books on the psychology of money: Life After Wealth: When is Enough, Enough?, Money Motto: The Path to Authentic Wealth and Great White Elephant: Why Rich Kids Hate their Parents!.

The Family Business Forum was developed by regional business owners and is a member-driven organization that aims to enable local family businesses to maintain and grow a profitable business and successfully transfer management and ownership. The forum provides its members with executive educational programs, enhanced networking opportunities with fellow family businesses, a forum to discuss common issues and concerns, and exposure to nationally recognized experts to ensure that the businesses’ needs are constantly identified and addressed.
