Whole lot of business going on.
Passan Hall is a hive of activity -- from the academic affairs of the Office of the Registrar/Recorder to the transactions of the Financial Aid and Financial Service offices.
Although many services are available online, students and employees still frequent this building to register for classes, check grades, look for work-study opportunities, and a host of other reasons.
If you were at Wilkes in 1993...
you called Passan Hall the new Student Services Building. Renovations, which included handicapped accessibility, air conditioning and floor coverings were made to the building in 1994.
In 1998, the 10,000-square-foot brick building was named in honor of Marjorie Passan, a Pittston native who later lived in Wilkes-Barre and New York City. Mrs. Passan co-founded the Valley Distributing company, and served as its secretary and treasurer. Former Wilkes president, Dr. Christopher Breiseth, described Marjorie as "a woman who embraced life and new beginnings."
