Criteria for Selecting Graduate Assistants
1. Regular admission to the program or current student with good academic standing (3.0 GPA or higher)
2. Students admitted under Conditional Classification may apply for an assistantship after completion of nine semester hours of graduate credit with a cumulative average of 3.0 or higher.
3. Completion of Graduate Assistant on-line process
4. Ability and willingness to perform duties outlined in job posting and assigned by the Director/Department Chair of the respective program.

Responsibilities of the graduateassistant:
The position of Doctoral Program Graduate Assistant is designed to provide administrative support to the Chair and to the faculty in the Education Department. Duties include, but are not limited to: assistance in writing and/or compiling research and professional publications; developing, conducting, or assisting with training initiatives for faculty, staff, and students; providing support in planning and implementing department initiatives; providing assistance with the programs’ learning management system; and other duties to support the growth of the department.
Hours of Service: Range from10-15 hours per week
Requirements:
Strong writing skills and working knowledge of American Psychological Association (APA) writing style and formatting required. Professionalism and strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Both master’s and doctoral level students may apply, but doctoral level is preferred.
