Criteria for Selecting Graduate Assistants
1. Regular admission to the program or current student with good academic standing (3.0 GPA or higher)
2. Students admitted under Conditional Classification may apply for an assistantship after completion of nine semester hours of graduate credit with a cumulative average of 3.0 or higher.
3. Completion of Graduate Assistant on-line process
4. Ability and willingness to perform duties outlined in job posting and assigned by the Director/Department Chair of the respective program.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT POSITION DESCRIPTION
Small Business Development Center
The Graduate Assistant is a part time consultant with the Small Business Development Center. The position provides consulting assistance to small business clients and research support for client projects. In addition, the Assistant will provide administrative support by responding to requests for information and training support as needed. Consulting assistance includes areas such as business planning, development of financial projections, marketing plans, strategies and implementation, financing structure development, feasibility, accounting and recordkeeping and human resources.
Hours of service per week: 17 hours per week.
Educational value of assistantship:
The Assistant will learn consulting techniques and application of academic material to client situations. The SBDC provides training to all graduate assistants and makes SBDC professional development available to all graduate assistants.
