Delware Hall is the brother...

of Chesapeake Hall. Both were bought by Wilkes College in 1967. The building is is a co-ed 1st year residence hall. The capacity of the building is 72 beds with a support staff of 3 RA’s. Singles, doubles, and triples are offered as housing options.

Like Chesapeake, Delaware offers two lounges on its first floor -- one with a pool table and one with couches and a television -- to give residents choices for places to socialize without leaving "home."

If you were at Wilkes before 1967...
Delaware Hall was still an apartment building.

Delaware Hall is closely linked to Chesapeake Hall. The two dormitories were built in the 1880s as a block of four houses with a common facade. The homes originally belonged to Benjamin Reynolds, a businessman, and were designed by the Wilkes-Barre architectural firm of Kipp and Podmore.

Although the original home was renovated into apartments in the early 1900s, its basic original structure remains intact. Before the block of houses was built, the Baptist congregation's church stood on the site. The brick, Greek Revivial church was built around 1847, but was sold when the congregation moved out in the 1880s.
