Automatic External Defibrillators (AED’s)

There are now nine AED’s on campus. AED’s are automatic external defibrillators which can be used to evaluate a cardiac arrest victim’s heart rhythm, determine if shock is needed and then deliver an electrical shock throughout the chest wall to the heart.

 The AED’s are located in lobby’s of the following buildings;
 
·        Breiseth Hall
·        Darte Center Theatre
·        Evans Hall,
·        Henry Student Center
·        Marts Center
·        Munson Field House
·        Public Safety Office
·        Stark Learning Center
·        University Center on Main (UCoM)
 
The AED’s are authorized for use by trained responders in First Aid and CPR. All Public Safety Officers have been trained to use the AED’s.
