Dear Student:
I hope you had a pleasant summer! As the start of the fall semester approaches (August 25th), I write to call some important information to your attention.
Please remember to retrieve an up-to-date copy of your fall 2008 Class Schedule via the MYWilkes portal as close to the start of classes as possible, as some room assignments may change. Note that you are formally registered for all courses listing “RE” or “RW” status. A “WL” status after a particular course means that you are only wait-listed, not registered, for that course; if you are still interested in that particular course/section, you should check directly with the instructor during the first week of classes to see if any openings have occurred due to drop/add activity. If you gain entry into that class, or wish to drop or add a course, you must still obtain the appropriate form, secure the proper signature(s), and return it to the Student Services Center for processing. Please note that you must be registered for 12 credits in order to be considered a full time student for billing and financial aid purposes.
It is also very important that our office keep up-to-date student information in our records. Therefore, please make sure we have your local address and phone number in our system. Please click on this local address link to enter your local address & phone information, or stop by the Student Services Center front desk in UCOM.
It is imperative that students planning to complete their degree requirements and graduate in either December 2008 or May 2009 adhere to the deadlines as listed in the graduation information link.
Lastly, click here for information on extended office hours and important dates and times for the beginning of the semester. For your convenience, Student Services (located in UCOM), Student Affairs, and the Admissions Office for Part-Time Studies will be open on Saturday, August 23 rd and Sunday, August 24 th, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to help you take care of necessary issues prior to the start of classes on Monday, August 25, 2008.
If you are a resident student, you should have received detailed information on residence hall opening dates and procedures. If you have not, please contact the Residence Life Office at 570-408-4350.
If you have questions about these procedures or other academic or financial matters, please do not hesitate to contact the Student Services Center at 570-408-2000 or onestop@wilkes.edu.
Sincerely,
Susan Hritzak, M.B.A.
