Martin Luther King, Day, January 21, Commemoration Activities

Wilkes’ Offices of Diversity Initiatives and Civic Engagement have teamed up with the ARC of Luzerne County to celebrate MLK. ARC of Luzerne County is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Students from ARC will gain an understanding of MLK and his work through a presentation and crafts. Members of the Wilkes community can look on as the ARC students create a book about MLK or join in the activity. Instruction will be provided.

WHEN:
11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Monday, Jan. 21

WHERE:
Henry Student Center Ballroom

Lunch will be provided.

Wilke-Barre’s MLK Celebration is at City Hall. Officials from the City of Wilkes-Barre and from WB’s several colleges and universities will honor MLK by talking about his influence on their lives and communities. The Wilkes community is invited to this event organized by Angel Jirau. If you would like to attend, please contact Erica Acosta for further information.
