Mission:

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts is committed to nuturing a climate in which a community of artists-educators, diverse student population, and the public-at-large engage in art, dance, music, and theatre.

Vision:

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts will build on its rich history of artistic accomplishment in art, dance, music, and theatre while continuing to be the focal point for the arts within the greater valley region and beyond.

Experienced, caring, dedicated, and talented faculty will provide guidance, a stimulating climate for artistic, personal, and intellectual growth while delivering high quality instruction to students. Excellent performances and exhibitions are core strengths which educate the community, provide rich opportunities to embrace individuality, and celebrate world cultures. Students participating in major and minor programs in the arts will model resourceful strategies to approach the job market.
