Welcome to the Office of Diversity Initiatives in the Center for Global Education and Diversity at Wilkes. As an inclusive center our main goal is to serve students, staff and faculty from underrepresented groups to develop a nurturing and empowering support system.  As diversity increases at Wilkes, we aim to foster an appreciation for difference within the classroom and the community.

We welcome people from all experiences and backgrounds and provide programming that encourages individuals to take on challenges that bring out their best. In addition, we provide support to our minority student population and simultaneously help enrich the rest of the University community with knowledge of different points of view.  Some student organizations that support minority populations include the Multicultural Student Coalition, the Indian Cultural Association, the Gay/Straight Alliance, WUSA (Wilkes University Step Association), the Chinese Student Association and the Islamic Interest Society; and we look forward to supporting the creation of other diversity-related student groups.  In the Office of Diversity Initiatives, we strive to offer members of our underrepresented populations a home away from home.

We invite faculty, staff, administrators, students, and student organizations to participate in our decisions about what programs to provide. If there is a program or speaker that you would like to see at Wilkes, or one that would enrich curriculum, please let us know so that we may help facilitate the event.  If you have questions, please contact us at Tel: 570-408-7854 or E-mail: global.education@wilkes.edu.
