Wilkes WebVPN

Attention: The old VPN (Virtual Private Network) system will not be available after August 26, 2010. All users are encouraged to visit https://webvpn.wilkes.edu to get the latest VPN client. The old VPN and IPSEC clients are not compatible with the new system.

The Wilkes University Web VPN system is a web-based VPN service that is designed to simplify the use of VPN service for end users. Once authenticated, the Web VPN automatically installs Cisco's AnyConnect thin-client on the user's system and configures it for the correct network profile.

Cisco's AnyConnect client provides a secure computing experience similar to when you are on campus, accessing Wilkes University's network. The following is the list of resources:

• Web Directory (W: Drive)
• Departmental Shares (S: Drive)
• Wilkes Library catalogs
• Administrative Systems

  • You should use your email I.D. without @wilkes.edu (john.smith) and email password.
• Why I am getting the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", while visiting https://webvpn.wilkes.edu on campus network?
  
  • You do not need to run VPN software on campus network. You can access this link from off-campus network only.
• What operating systems are supported by WebVPN?
  
  • Cisco Anyconnect VPN client supports 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows XP, VISTA, Windows 7 and Macintosh operating systems.
• Do I have to use https:// for WebVPN?
  
  • Yes. Please use secure page https://webvpn.wilkes.edu to connect to WebVPN.
