The study of art and art history
at Wilkes University provides a unique complement to major academic degree programs. Our courses in art and art history seek to provide a challenging learning environment where students develop skills in critical thinking, creativity, aesthetics, and historical contexts, while enhancing their use of materials and diverse technologies. Our dedicated faculty works closely with all students to share a variety of artistic philosophies and practices in a range of disciplines including design, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, computer graphics and ceramics.

Studio Art Minor | 18+ credits
The minor in Studio Art accepts any courses above the 101 level, with no more than 6 credits in art history.

Art History Minor | 18+ credits
The minor in Art History requires that students complete ART 140, ART 141, ART 240 and 6 credits of art history topics courses.
