Pharmaceutical Science concentrationStark Learning Center • 570-408-4290 (T) • 570-408-7729 (F) • Email  The rapid change in the pharmacy field is complemented by an equal boom in pharmaceutical research and development.The BA in Chemistry degree with a concentration in Pharmaceutical Science will prepare students who are interested in pharmaceutical research and development of new drugs rather than a career in direct patient care. It will also prepare those who are interested in graduate school.
Note: This degree offers many opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry. However, it does not qualify the holder for licensure as a pharmacist or prepare the holder for practice as a licensed pharmacist in the United States. Employment Opportunities exist in the pharmaceutical industry and the Food and Drug Administration. A student who continues his or her education to obtain a Ph.D. will also be eligible for a position as a professor in an academic institution.
