Arts at Wilkes

The Department of Performing Arts provides a weath of performing opportunities for its students. We offer a complete performance experience to the student who is willing to work and take creative risks. Whether you're interested in dance, music or theatre, there will always be an opportunity to get involved. Students can major in musical theatre or theatre arts, or minor in dance, music, or theatre.

The Conservatory at Wilkes University - where the arts are alive! Exciting and challenging classes in music and dance at a place to learn, grow, aspire and excel! The Conservatory is brimming with an extraordinary array of instructional arts and cultural programs which we are eager to share with the community.

The Sordoni Art Gallery's mission is to educate the Wilkes University family of students, faculty and staff through the collection, care, display, and interpretation of works of art; to enrich and deepen the understanding of human cultures, values, and traditions for this constituency; and to inspire the creative, intellectual and artistic life of the University and the community.


The Visual Arts are part of the Division of Integrative Media and Art. The visual arts area seeks to provide a challenging learning environment where students develop skills in creativity, aesthetics, and historical contexts, and an appreciation of the role of the arts while enhancing their use of materials and diverse technologies. The faculty of  work closely with all students to share a variety of artistic philosophies and practices in a range of disciplines including design, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, computer graphics and ceramics.
