Physical Therapy. Occupational Therapy.
Clinical Laboratory Sciences.

Our Allied programs prepare you for admission to physical- and occupational-therapy schools or a clinical lab sciences certification program.

Career opportunities are expanding in these fields.

With that expansion comes increasing competition. Wilkes' approach to pre-allied health education can help you become a competitive, noteworthy candidate.

Wilkes' program emphasizes basic and social sciences

to provide our students with the appropriate background knowledge to enter occupational- and physical-therapy programs. The coursework is complemented by an advising system that closely monitors students' academic progress and guides them through the application processes of these professional programs.

Students interested in allied health fields must meet...

with their academic advisors and advisors from the Health Sciences Office early during freshman year at Wilkes to develop individualized courses of study.

You may plan to apply to an undergraduate program in physical therapy, occupational therapy or clinical laboratory sciences after two or three years of coursework at Wilkes.

Or, you may plan to complete an undergraduate degree at Wilkes and apply to an entry-level allied health master's or doctoral degree program. Both career plans affect course selection and must be reviewed with the academic and health sciences advisors.
