Dr. Bernard W. Graham
Nesbitt College of Pharmacy and Nur
Bernard W. Graham is professor and founding dean of the Nesbitt College of Pharmacy and Nursing at Wilkes University. In January 1995 he came to Wilkes-Barre with the responsibility of developing and implementing a new fully-accredited pharmacy program. The first class graduated in 2000 with the Doctor of Pharmacy Degree. In 2003 he also assumed the deanship of the Nursing program. From 2005 to 2007, he served as interim Provost of the University.
Dr. Graham graduated from the Albany College of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy. He later received a MS and Ph.D. from Purdue University in Bionucleonics (health physics and nuclear pharmacy). He served eight years on the faculty at the University of South Carolina where he was a tenured associate professor in the School of Pharmacy and the Radiology Department of the School of Medicine. During the next four years, during the start-up of Unit 2 of the PPL’s nuclear power plant, he served as senior health physicist and eventually environmental group supervisor. He then moved west and joined the faculty at the Idaho State University as Associate Dean of Pharmacy and was the principal investigator on several well-funded projects involved with the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory. During his career he has served as Chair of a Department of Pharmacy Practice, Chair of a Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Dean, Dean and Provost. He has been a registered pharmacist in three states, a Board Certified Health Physicist, and has authored many scholarly works and delivered numerous presentations. Recently he has participated in four non-sectarian medical missions in Guatemala and has served on several site accreditation visits as a member of the ACPE team.
A resident of Mountain Top Pennsylvania, Bernie has been married for 38 years to Doreen, who is also a pharmacist.
