Dominick P. Trombetta, Pharm.D. , CGP, FASCP, BCPS
Dr. Trombetta is currently an Associate Professor of Pharmacy at Wilkes University, Nesbitt School of Pharmacy. He received a BS in Pharmacy from Temple University and Pharm.D. from Shenandoah University.
Dr. Trombetta's area of expertise is geriatric medicine and he maintains a clinical practice at Allied Services Rehabilitation Hospital in Scranton, Pennsylvania. His services include the pain management in addition to rounding with the internal medicine team. His responsibilities include the traditional didactic teaching in the pharmacotherapeutic sequence as well as precepting introductory (IPPE) and advanced practice pharmacy students (APPE) in geriatrics/internal medicine. Prior to joining the faculty at Wilkes University, Dr. Trombetta worked as a staff pharmacist, clinical coordinator, and the director of pharmacy at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
He is a member of the, American College of Clinical Pharmacists, American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, and the Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He has been awarded Fellowship designation from the American Society of Consultant Pharmacist, and is a certified geriatric pharmacist (CGP). Dr. Trombetta has been recognized as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS).
Additionally, he has served as manuscript reviewer for US Pharmacist, Handbook of Nonprescription drugs, and the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy. His scholarly activities within the last year include publications US Pharmacist, Journal of Pharmacy Practice, and the “Kidneys” chapter in Basic Skills in Interpreting Clinical Lab Data 14th edition.

This one year post-doctoral specialized residency is designed to provide clinical training in geriatric pharmacy practice. The resident develops skills necessary to become an advanced level pharmacy practitioner in the area of specialization. Research and teaching activities are also components of the program.

This one year post-doctoral specialized residency is designed to provide intense training in pharmacy practice . The resident develops skills necessary to advance their careers in the specialized areas of pharmacy practice. Research, medication use processes, and teaching activities are also components of the program
This six week rotation is inpatient internal medicine rotation with an emphasis in geriatrics. The rotation provides a unique internal medicine experience inside a rehabilitation hospital with a private internist. In addition, the clinical pharmacists are consulted by the physiatrists for pain management of rehabilitation patients. Students actively participate in all aspects of pharmaceutical care activities. Problem solving, communication skills, and interdisciplinary approach to care are stressed. Document of pharmaceutical care is essential.
