Although it is one of the smaller buildings on campus the Miner-Moat House has one of Wilkes' most elaborate front yards. Trees, ferns, shrubs, and colorful flowers are fronted by a garden gate.
This "study in contrasts" continues inside the building too. The structure is fairly
young, but contains a fireplace mantle that is more than 200 years old and is reputed
to be the oldest surviving piece of a building in Luzerne county.
The Miner-Moat House is currently the off-season offices for the Wilkes University football coaching staff.
