The Business of Film: A Conversation with Hollywood Producer and Filmmaker Jim Whitaker

Jim Whitaker is a 25-year veteran of the motion picture industry, with dozens of film credits to his name. During this engaging dialogue with Wilkes University President Patrick F. Leahy, Jim will share an insider’s perspective on the business of the film industry.
Jim currently serves as President of Whitaker Entertainment. Previously, he held the role of President of Motion Pictures at Ron Howard’s production company, Imagine Entertainment, where he began his career as an intern in graduate film school. Jim has been a lead producer on films including A Wrinkle in Time, The Finest Hours, American Gangster, Cinderella Man, Flight Plan, Friday Night Lights, 8 Mile and many others. In addition, he was the producer and director of the award-winning documentary film Rebirth, which chronicles the physical and emotional rebuilding after the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
