Scholarship awards are determined on a rolling basis, it is to your advantage to audition early; please note that you must be accepted to the University before your audition date.

Audition Requirements
Theatre Arts Degree
Acting Audition
Two Contrasting Monologues (each 1–2 minutes)
Be prepared to perform two contrasting monologues; e.g. one comic and one dramatic,
or one classical (written before 1700) and one modern. The pieces should be from a
published play and must be memorized.
All applicants are required to submit:
- A head shot or photograph.
- A resume.
- At least one letter of recommendation from an academic instructor.
Musical Theatre Degree
Acting Audition
The two monologues can be contrasting in any way such as one comic and one dramatic, or one classical (written before 1700) and one modern. The pieces should be from a published play and must be memorized.
Voice Audition
One song should demonstrate your ability to sing in your “chest” or “head” voice. Most “up tempo” Broadway numbers are appropriate. The other should be a Broadway ballad. You may perform the entire song, but do not need to do multiple verses. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist, who will be provided.
Dance Audition
All applicants will be given an “on-the-spot” audition. If you have had dance experience, you will be given dance combinations in ballet, jazz, tap and modern. If you have had no or little dance experience, you will be given a simple movement combination to determine your dance potential. A prepared piece is welcomed, but not required. Video auditions will be sent a "routine" which must be learned and submitted.

Theatre Design and Technology Degree
Prospective students interested in theatre design and technology are asked to schedule an interview.
All applicants are required to present:
- A resume.
- At least one letter of recommendation from an academic instructor.
- A portfolio containing samples of their art or design work. Portfolios may be sent to dpa@wilkes.edu.
