Wilkes University Offers Online Instruction Endorsement Program
Wilkes University’s Online Teaching master’s degree now includes the Pennsylvania
Department of Education Online Instruction Endorsement Program.
Pennsylvania teachers with a bachelor’s degree and an Instructional I or II certificate can earn the endorsement, which is Pennsylvania Department of Education approved. The endorsement is offered only for Pennsylvania teachers, and may be earned as a stand-alone program, which is 12 credits, or as part of the 30-credit Online Teaching master’s degree. The master’s degree without the endorsement option is open to teachers nationwide.
The program endorsement documents knowledge in new and emerging areas where formal certification does not exist. It is intended to improve a teacher’s skills with complex classroom settings, integrating new learning models and emerging technologies into coursework. Educators will learn to design online learning environments and best practices in communicating with students. Field experience under the guidance of a mentor will focus on projects specific to professional goals.
The Online Instruction Endorsement Program and the Online Teaching master’s degree are conducted completely online, with accelerated seven to eight week sessions. Content is aligned with iNACOL standards and offered in partnership with PLS 3rd Learning.
