Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy Student Organization Receives Membership Award from Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association
The Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association (PPA) presented the Wilkes University Nesbitt
School of Pharmacy student chapter with the Membership Award during the association’s
Annual Conference on Oct. 3 in Grantville, Pa. The award recognizes the pharmacy school
that excels at membership recruitment, retention and involvement in the PPA. Points
are awarded for a number of activities based on these criteria and special credit
is given for creative and innovative efforts.
The Wilkes University student group earned the recognition for speaking to first-year pharmacy students during orientation and encouraging them to join the PPA, promoting the organization, holding a Mocktail Party and increasing their membership numbers throughout the year.
The student group received a commemorative plaque and a $200 cash prize.
Founded in 1878, the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association is a professional membership organization of more than 2,000 pharmacists and pharmacy students across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, representing almost all facets of pharmacy practice.
