"Wilkes University Pharmacy graduates have a brand, that made me want to be a part of the program."
School and Major: Pharmacy / Spanish
Year: P3
From: Reading, PA
Activities On and Off Campus: Sgt. Of Arms – Kappa Psi Pharmacy Fraternity, Fundraising chair for PPA (Penn, Pharm Associ), APHA member, Wilkes MMA
Career Aspirations: I’m interested in becoming a specialist in critical care. I would like to open up a pharmacy clinic or be a liaison at a pharmacy where I could act as a translator as well. I’d like to help diversify the pharmacy field. I also want to be an internal Medicine Pharmacy specialist and be in the International Medical Corps exclusively for Spanish and African countries.
Most Worthwhile Leadership Experience: I was a founder for the WACA club, and I helped to negotiate on behalf of the Wilkes MMA club to be trained at the School of Combat Arts by a highly skilled and world renowned instructor.
Best thing about being a student at Wilkes University: The people in the University promote a friendly atmosphere. I can strike up a conversation with anyone. It’s a productive social and educational atmosphere. The teachers are so accommodating to schedule coflicts. If you want to take a class or have a rotation, the teachers will work with you to make sure that your experiences are optimized.
Why Wilkes: I felt the smaller class size would give me more attention. All the teachers know me on a first name basis and know a little bit about me. The classes are smaller, so it’s easier to interact with people. I have friends from freshman year that I still talk to and spend time with. I also wanted to stay in Pennyslvania and be near my family. Now I feel like i have a larger family by being in this social productive environment.
For Pharmacy – Wilkes University Pharmacy graduates have a brand, that made me want to be a part of the program.
