Dr. Kaitlyn Langendoerfer is a northeastern Pennsylvania native from Honesdale, PA. Her teaching and research interests focus on medicine and health, age and the life course, and mixed methodologies.

Dr. Langendoerfer is an experienced researcher who has conducted clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital related to racial disparities of Type 2 Diabetes and ethnographic research focused on aging in place within urban communities in Cleveland, Ohio. Additionally, Dr. Langendoerfer has served as the Project Director of the Elderly Care Research Center where she facilitated NIH/NIA funded educational interventions promoting health advocacy for Black and white older adults.

Currently, she is the Managing Editor of the Journal of Elder Policy which is an interdisciplinary journal focused on policies that can enhance quality of life and well-being of older adults.

Publications by Dr. Langendoerfer and her colleagues have been featured in the Gerontologist, Ethnicity & Health, Clinical Interventions in Aging, Population Research & Policy Review, Journal of Family Medicine & Community Health, Journal of Gerontology and Geriatric Research, Journal of Intergenerational Research, and Men & Masculinities
