Dr. Bolesta received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Wilkes University and completed a PGY1 residency at the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson, and a PGY2 residency in Critical Care at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. He is currently an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice with an active clinical practice in critical care at Commonwealth Health’s Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Prior to working in academia he was a clinical pharmacy specialist in cardiology and cardiothoracic critical care at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania, and in medical critical care at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. His academic interests include pharmacogenomics, interprofessional education and simulation, and his practice interests include the impact of critical care pharmacy and transitions of care for critically ill patients.
Dr. Bolesta is certified by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in Pharmacotherapy. He is an active scholar with research interests in cardiovascular science, critical care, and a particular focus on post-operative atrial fibrillation. Dr. Bolesta is a member of several professional organizations, but devotes most of his time serving in various capacities within the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American Association of Clinical Pharmacy.
