Wilkes University Orientation FAQs
When is the Orientation?
Orientation is a one-day event. Incoming students may choose one of six orientation sessions to attend.
- Wednesday, July 7
- Thursday, July 8
- Friday, July 9
- Monday, July 12
- Tuesday, July 13
- Wednesday, July 14
Are all first-year students required to attend an Orientation session?
Orientation is an important part of acclimating to life at Wilkes University. Students meet with their advisors, learn about being a resident or commuter student, make their fall schedule, and so much more. We host the two different sessions to meet the needs of as many students as possible. Students should make every effort to be in attendance.
Who should I contact with allergy, physical, or any other accommodations?
Please contact email@example.com or call 570-408-4014 with any accommodations that will be needed for welcome weekend as soon as possible.
What if I cannot attend either Orientation date?
Orientation is a very important part of getting acclimated to the University atmosphere. Students will learn a lot of valuable information in this short time-span. If students absolutely are unable to make it to either orientation, they should contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 570-408-4014.
Do families have to attend Orientation?
Although it is not required, it is strongly suggested parents/guardians attend Orientation. There is a whole track geared towards the interests of families so they can support their first year student.
When will I get my Wilkes ID?
You will upload your ID picture through your orientation to do list on the student portal, but you will not receive your ID until Welcome Weekend.
