The brand new 72,500-square-foot Cohen Science Center is a monument to research and innovation. Housing the departments of Biology and Health Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences, its state-of-the-art labs are designed for flexibility and interdisciplinary research. This promotes creative collaboration where students can work side-by-side with faculty mentors on sophisticated research equipment.

The Institute for Energy & Environmental Research (IEER). The institute focuses on natural gas extraction derived from Marcellus shale, and will eventually broaden its' reach to include other energy sources, energy distribution, and consumption.

Dr. Paul A. Wender was recently awarded the American Chemical Society's prestigious Arthur C. Cope Award for his pioneering contributions to synthesis, photochemistry, organometallic chemistry, chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, and drug delivery.
