Alternative Spring Break

For over 20 years Wilkes has joined with numerous organizations to build and repair homes, assist seniors, teach children and bring help to people who need it most. Each trip provides an opportunity to experience life in a different culture and every destination becomes an adventure!

The Big Event

Our hallmark event. Each year students, staff, faculty and alumni volunteer for The Big Event, a community service day that gives our campus a chance to give back to Luzerne County.

American Red Cross Blood Drives

We partner with the American Red Cross several times a year to perform blood drives on campus to help ensure blood is accessible to the community when needed.

Circle K

Becoming a strong leader tomorrow begins with a strong initiative of service and leadership today. For nearly half a century here at Wilkes University, the Circle K club has forged students to become strong leaders by giving back to their communities through hard work and generosity. The Wilkes Circle K Club was chartered in 1962 and was the first in the Wilkes-Barre area. Since that beginning, the club has become one of the most distinguished and popular clubs on the Wilkes campus.

Victims' Rights Rally

Wilkes University and Victim Resource Center VRC staff and volunteers regularly organize community events, such as Take Back the Night vigils, the Clothesline Project and Candlelight Vigil to demonstrate support for victims of crime and bring attention to these issues with the community at large.
